By DAN TORIBIO JR.If there is a saying, “love can move mountain”, in reality love can also be a cause tragedy.

A depressed lover taking his or her own life has proven many times and it recently happened to a security guard who ended his life after he and his girlfriend broke up.

Rey Pasculado y Mahusay, 26, single, a native of Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay, and a security guard detailed at Petron Gas Station along Nuñez Extension recorded in video the entire scene of his suicide on a  mobile phone.

In the video clip found on his cell phone, Pasculado set his phone on the wall inside his rented room at Climaco Drive,  Daisy Road, Guiwan and his last words to his girlfriend were in Visayan — “if my death will make you happy, then bye-bye”. Then he moved about two steps forward and approached the rope which he tied on the roof. He then placed the knot around his neck and hanged himself until he died in front of his cell phone.

The incident happened around 1 p.m., Tuesday,  but it was discovered only at past 6 p.m. of the same when after Pasculado’s relatives called him but received no answer.

Few days before the incident, Pasculado told his brother who is also a security guard that he was facing a problem after he and his girlfriend broke up.

Meanwhile, Divisoria Police Station commander Chief Insp. Arlan Delumpines disclosed that based on the cell phone video the incident was indeed a suicide case. – Dan Toribio
