‘Apple’ heads Hermosa Fest Committee 2016 PDF Print E-mail

Mayor Beng Climaco has issued an executive order, amending the composition of the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival Committee tasked to work on the preparation, planning and budgeting for this year’s month-long festival in October.

In the order, the chief executive has designated newly appointed City Administrator Ma. Angelique “Apple” Go to chair the committee with Executive Assistant Christian Olasiman as vice chairman.

This, as the city of Zamboanga is once again in the thick of preparation for the annual Hermosa festival in honor of its patron saint, Nuestra Sra. La Virgen del Pilar on Oct. 12.

As in the past, the occasion will not only revere its patron saint but will endeavor to increase people’s awareness and interest in the rich history and cultural heritage of Zamboanga as well as its potentials for the promotion of the local tourism industry.

committees and their chair persons are: Ways and Means- City Budget Officer Ferdinan A. Alvarez; Private Sector Coordinator- Sales and Promotion Supervisor Milagros B. Cortez and Licensing Officer Benjie Barredo; Tourism Promotion- Tourism Officer Sarita Sebastian; Culture and Arts- Asst. City Administrator for City Affairs Jose Genaro Yap-Aizon; Security and Order- Task Force Zamboanga chief Juvymax Uy, city police director Supt. Luisito P. Manaye, OIC-Tourist Police Ricardo Garcia, CDRRMO head Dr. Elmeir Apolinario; and Social Welfare Officer Ma. Socorro Rojas.

Physical Arrangement- City General Services Officer Rene dela Cruz and City Engineer Luis Vicente Despalo; Cleanliness/Sanitation- OCENR head Engr. Reynaldo S. Gonzales and City Health Officer Rodel Agbulos; Technical Support- Arch. Rizanay S. Basing; Sports- Dr. Cecilia C. Atilano; and Marshall and Parade- City Veterinarian Mario Arriola; and Program Preparation- Information Officer Cedrick Zabala.

Food committee- Dyna Gochuco; Media affairs – Sheila Covarrubias; Transportation- Ronald Vicete; Inter-barangay preparation- Montano Cortez, Art Onrubia and Ramer Namoc; Distribution of invitation/letters and Secretariat- Office of the Secretary to the Mayor.
