The Lamitan city government has passed a resolution opposing the deployment of police scalawags to their city.

The resolution was passed during the Lamitan City Council’s regular session last Wednesday.

Councilor Joaquin Puri Jr., author of the resolution, opposed the transfer and described the people of Lamitan as gentle and respectful people who do not want bad people in their community.

Councilor Clarito “Itoy” San Juan disclosed that President Rodrigo Duterte and PNP Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa should instead terminate the police scalawags from the service and recruit new ones who can protect and serve the people.

Councilor Malik Uyag, for his part, said that the police scalawags should instead be deployed to Tuburan, Sumisip, Tipo-Tipo to join the mllitary in the operations against the Abu Sayyaf.

Councilor Ajid Dalawis, a retired Police Chief, supported Uyag, saying that the scalawags should be assigned to critical areas and join military operations against lawless elements.  (Allen Abastillas)
