Motor vehicle acquisition decreases by 50% PDF Print E-mail

The acquisition of new motor vehicles in the region has decreased to 50 percent.

Land Transportation Office-9 Chief Allan Macabangkit said that the acquisition of motorvehicles for the year 2016 only totalled 74,151 units.

The number of acquired vehicles decreased by 63,825 units compared to the 2015  figures of 137,976.

Of the 74,151 units in the year 2016, a total of 73,729 units comprise private vehicles and 422 were government vehicles.

For 2015, private vehicles totalled 136,863 while government vehicles totalled 1,112.

Among the four-wheeled vehicles, utility vehicles topped the list of acquired vehicles for 2016 with 8,309 units.
