Police units, fallen heroes honored during 26th PNP Foundation Day PDF Print E-mail

The Philippine National Police Regional Office-9 spearheaded the observance of the 26th PNP Foundation Day at the PRO-9 Quadrangle , Camp Romeo A. Abendan, Mercedes yesterday.

Among the activities during the event were the awarding of outstanding PNP regional units and honoring PNP fallen heroes.

PRO-9 Police units were given the ‘Medalya ng Kasanayan” for being the top performers during the Compliance Evaluation Process Performance Governance System held at the Centro Latino, Paseo del Mar, last February 3.

The Zamboanga City Police Station 11 under Chief Insp Albert Sta Teresa was one of the awardees during the event.

Other awardees are the following: the 2nd Maneuvering Company under Chief Insp Joseph Ortega, the Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Public Safety Company under Supt Muammar Mukaram, Mahayag Municipal Police Station under Chief Insp Homer Dumalag, and the  Liloy Municipal Police Station under Chief Insp Jose Rivero III.

Another highlight of the activity was the wreath-laying ceremony for fallen PNP heroes, an event that paid tribute to the brave police officers who laid down their lives in the call of duty.

Ret. Sr Supt Julmunier Jubail, PNP Retirees Association Inc President, attended as Guest of Honor and Speaker during the celebration.

In his speech, Jubail challenged every police officer to serve and perform their job with integrity and dedication.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) was formed on January 29, 1991 from the merger between the Philippine Constabulary and the Integrated National Police, pursuant to Republic Act 6975, or the Department of Interior and Local Government Act of 1990. (Dan Toribio)
