The Basilan Provincial Police Office has bared its plan for the upcoming deployment of 300 rogue police personnel who are expected to arrive in the province anytime soon.

Basilan Provincial Police Office Director Sr Supt Nickson Muksan said that he is planning to assign the police personnel to go after illegal gamblers in the province.

Some of the personnel will also be assigned to do foot patrol, Muksan said.

Muksan bared his plan in line with the recent drive of the PNP to go after groups and individuals engaged in illegal gambling.

Muksan said that the province of Basilan is almost 100 percent gambling-free.

He however said that operations against illegal gambling activities continue to ensure that no gambling activities will surface.

It will be recalled that Basilan officials recently issued pronouncements opposing the deployment of corrupt cops to their area. (Allen Abastillas)
