A test drive for one motorcyclist ended in his death after he tried to overtake a vehicle along the Maria Clara Lobregat Highway in Culianan last Friday.

Culianan Police Station Commander Chief Inspector Elmer Solon identified the fatality as Ian John Reyes Dumlao, 24 years old, single and a resident of Culianan.

Based on police investigation, the incident happened after Dumlao decided to test drive an RS motorcycle along the highway at around 10am last Friday.

In the course of the drive, Dumlao tried to shift to the fast lane after deciding to overtake a truck.

While in the process of overtaking however, Dumlao accidentally bumped the rear portion of a Hi-Ace Grandia driven by Rizalino Heresilles y Pajarito, 59 years old and a resident of Putik.

This caused Dumlao to lose control of the steering bar and be thrown to the ground.

Upon impact, the victim hit his head on a Zamcelco concrete post along the road, instantly killing him.

Dumlao was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians at a local hospital.

Meanwhile, both vehicles were impounded at the Culianan Police Station. (Dan Toribio)
