The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Zamboanga City Chapter is set to open its 2017 Summer Safety Institute, a series of seminars designed to train participants to save lives.

The seminar is scheduled from April 3 to May 17 this year.

Red Cross officials are encouraging high school graduates and young professionals to take the course to broaden their knowledge on life saving techniques.

Among the skills to be taught during the seminar are: HIV-AIDS awareness, basic disaster management, basic life support, land navigation trekking, survival challenge, International Humanitarian law awareness, ambulance management, first aid basic life support instructor course, rope rescue, basic water safety and first aid.

Some of the activities will be done outdoors while lectures will be given inside the Red Cross Youth Training Center.

Trainers of the participants are highly qualified personnel trained by the International organization.

Participants who complete the Summer Safety Institute will be given their respective certificates.  (RGAAGo)
