The mother of the Zamboangueña call center agent who was killed in a robbery hold-up incident in Makati has appealed to the government for livelihood assistance.

Mrs. Erlinda Gonzales, the mother of the late Eleanor Gonzales, is asking the government to provide them with livelihood assistance to take the place of financial help her slain daughter used to provide the family.

Eleanor is reportedly the family breadwinner before she was killed during a robbery-hold-up incident in Guadalupe, Makati.

Erlinda used to gather bamboo to make flower baskets for sale.

She stopped working because of difficulty in gathering branches and bamboo due to her old age.

She said that she now has to return to work to provide the family’s needs.

Erlinda’s husband is sick while her youngest child is still going to school.

Meanwhile, Erlinda also appealed to President Rodrigo Duterte to continue his anti drug campaign to prevent crime incidents from happening.

Eleanor was killed near a bus stop after robbers shot her in the forehead before taking away her handbag.

Mrs Gonzales also thanked local officials for providing transportation and burial assistance for Eleanor.  (Dan Toribio)
