Power consumption for the summer months is expected to increase by at least 8 megawatts, according to the Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative (Zamcelco.)

Zamcelco Information Services Division Head Ferdie Rodriguez said that current power demand amounts to 90.3 megawatts.

The demand is expected to increase to at least 98 megawatts when the summer months kick in, Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez said that more demand by consumers results in a corresponding increase in electric bills.

Rodriguez thus called on Zamcelco consumers to practice power conservation.

Rodriguez said that there is enough power to supply the city’s current needs of 90 megawatts but failed to make an assurance of power supply during the coming summer months.  (RGAAGo)
