The Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST) has kicked off its 3rd Zamboanga Bird Festival at the ZSCMST grounds last Wednesday.

Roderick D. Trio, ZSCMST Administrative Officer, said that the festival is a manifestation of the school’s commitment to preserve the environment.

The school invited students to the activity to promote environmental preservation.

At least 8 schools are expected to have a guided tour of the bird sanctuary.

The event itself will also be open to the public.

“Besides the visual appreciation tiene qui education input como donde estaba el bids, porque sila taki, and if they appreciate nature, they will try to preserve and protect nature.  We are inviting schools to join us in the conservation and preservation of the environment,” said Trio.

He said that with this activity, they hope to inform the public that they do not have to go far to visit a bird sanctuary as there is one right in the heart of the city.  (RGAAGo)
