Councilor Cesar Jimenez has called on Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco to investigate alleged fixers facilitating transactions among barangay chairpersons at City Hall.

Jimenez, who made the call during an interview on E-media’s Conversa program, identified the alleged fixers as a man and a woman who are engaged in facilitating barangay transactions.

They are definitely not city hall employees, according to Jimenez, adding that the individuals wait within the vicinity of City Hall for barangay captains who want to procure their services.

“This is not an isolated incident,” Jimenez said.

He said that there is a big possibility that the fixers may have been facilitating transactions of a number of barangay captains over the years.

The presence of fixers in the city government was revealed by Tagasilay Barangay Captain Hanisa Francisco during a recent hearing of the Committee on Good Government chaired by Jimenez.

During the hearing, Francisco admitted signing documents that were prepared by fixers.

All she did was affix her signature, Jimenez said.

Francisco was recommended for suspension by the Committee on Good Government for alleged Dishonesty.

Jimenez said that the investigation of fixers is the responsiblity of the local chief executive, being in charge of City Hall and the executive department in general. (E-media)
