Authorities recovered a decomposing body believed to be a victim of summary execution  on the high seas off Sacol Island last Sunday.

Sangali Police Station Commander Chief Inspector Chester Natividad disclosed that the body was found at around 9am fronting Barangay Busay.

The unidentified victim is in an advanced state of decomposition and believed to be 20-30 years old, with an estimated height of about 5’2 to 5’4.

He was wearing a green shirt and brown short pants.

The man’s face was wrapped in packing tape, his body hogtied and tied to a toilet bowl which served as a sinking apparatus to keep the body from surfacing.

Natividad with Zamboanga City Public Safety Company personnel brought the cadaver to the shoreline of Manicahan where the cadaver was processed by the SOCO team.

The body, which remains unidentified, was later buried at a public cemetery.

Natividad said that there has been no reports on missing persons within the jurisdiction of the Sangali Police Station and stations in the east coast.

The Sangali Police Chief said that the man could have been murdered in an area outside the city and his body brought by the strong current to Zamboanga waters.  (Dan Toribio)
