Woman dies of suspected Meningococcemia PDF Print E-mail

A 19-year old pregnant woman died of suspected Meningococcemia at the Zamboanga City Medical Center last week.

City Health Officer Dr Rodel Agbulos said that the female victim is a resident of Calarian.

The victim, went to the Zamboanga City Medical Center during the third day after contracting fever and died hours later of septic shock.

Agbulos said that no samples from the victim were sent to Manila to test for possible diagnosis for Meningococcemia.

Symptoms however point to the disease.

The City Health Office has conducted prophylaxis to eliminate the possible spread of the disease.  (E-media)
