Daily Zamboanga Times Columnist Miguel “Mike” Apostol passed away yesterday due to Cardiac Arrest.

The Table Talk Column writer was 65.

Apostol complained of chest pains prior to the attack which happened at around 2am Friday.

He was rushed to the hospital but died shortly after he arrived for treatment.

Apostol occupied a number of positions during his lifetime.

He was appointed Commissioner of the National Commission for Indigenous People by former President Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo.

Prior to that, he served as Secretary to the Mayor of the late Mayor Maria Clara Lobregat from 2001 to 2004.

He occupied the same position during the term of then Mayor Erbie Fabian.

Apostol however was known as a veteran journalist and columnist in Zamboanga city.

He was a President of the Zamboanga Press Club Incorporated.

He is most known however for being the writer and olumnist of the long running Table Talk column of the Daily Zamboanga Times, which was published until his death yesterday.

His body now lies in state at the St Peter Funeral Homes in barangay Divisoria.  Interment will be announced by the family at a later date.  (Nonong Santiago)
