Another suspected drug pusher was arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency last Thursday afternoon.

PDEA Regional Director, Lyndon P. Aspacio, Dir. III, CESE, identified the arrested as Bienvenido Covarrubias Jalon, Jr., 43, single of PC Compound, Zone I.

He was arrested around 4:30 p.m. during a buy-bust operation.

PDEA agents confiscated from his possession three pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing more or less 0.06 grams worth P600, one gray card case, one disposable lighter, two folded aluminum foil strips, one opened empty transparent plastic sachet, one improvised straw scooper, one improvised bamboo sealer and P200 marked money.

Covarrubias was detained at the PDEA headquarters while the seized items were turned over to their crime laboratory for examinations.

Aspacio said that the suspect will be charged for violations of Section 5 (Selling of Illegal Drugs), Section 11 (Possession of Illegal Drugs), Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia) and section 15 (for using illegal drugs) of Article II, RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. – Dan Toribio
