Controversial councilor Rodolfo Bayot has defied an order from the City Legal Officer to remove a marker along the Lunzuran Highway indicating the spot where the body of 20-year old murder victim Erica Jean Rosal was found.

“If they can show me the court order, then I will remove it,”  Bayot said.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco Salazar herself asked Bayot to remove the marker due to complaints aired by residents.

The City Legal Office also ordered Bayot to remove the marker placed along the highway, an area under the jurisdiction of the Department of Public Works and Highways.

Bayot is standing behind a resolution passed by his colleagues at the City Council allowing him to set up the marker on the road.

Days after, the DPWH wrote a letter saying that the area where the marker was set up is still part of the road.

Bayot moved the marker to the side of the road but remains adamant against removing the marker.  (Alinazar Hail Lahid/ E-media)
