The number of dengue cases has fallen below alert and epidemic threshold levels during the first quarter of the year, based on records of the City Health Office.

City Health Officer Dr Rodel Agbulos said that there are 245 cases of dengue in January compared to the 250 for the same month last year.

In February 177 cases of dengue were reported, a figure slightly lower than the 189 cases recorded for February 2016.

A total of 20 dengue cases have been recorded for the first week of March this year, a number lower than the 234 recorded on March 2016.

The figures recorded are way below the alert and epidemic thresholds for the disease.  (Liza Jocson)
