The Zamboanga Integrated Port Services Incorporated (ZCIPSI) has expressed plans to join the bidding for port terminal management next year.

This after the organization obtained an extension to operate cargo handling at the local seaport.

Winning the bid for port terminal management will give greater responsibility to ZCIPSI.

In the meantime, an extension for cargo handling will enable them to purchase additional equipment such as a forklift and trailer.

It will also enable them to complete their application for ISO.

Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) Manager Liberto dela Rosa informed ZCIPSI of the extension or hold over authority on February 25 by virtue of PPA Administrative Order 03-2017 signed by Jay Daniel R. Santiago, PPA General Manager.

The order states that all cargo handling operators with expired or expiring cargo handling contracts shall be granted a hold over authority for a period of one year or until the award of the agreement under the Administrative Order whichever comes first.  (RGAAGo)
