More than 173 units of blood were collected during a blood letting program spearheaded by the Zamboanga City State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZCSMST) together with the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) yesterday.

Dr. Milavel D. Nazario, ZCSMST President, said that the blood letting activity is in honor of District 2 Congressman Celso Lobregat who is celebrating his birthday today.

“We do this activity every time in honor of the birthday of Rep Lobregat who is very supportive and active to the program of the PNRC,” Nazario said.

Lobregat is also a Governor of the Philippine National Red Cross.

Lobregat was not able to attend the blood letting activity because he joined House of Representatives Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez  in conducting an ocular inspection of the different RORO wharves and tourist sites in the country.

Among donors in the blood letting activity are troopers of the Special Action Force, Regional Maritime Unit-9 including their Chief Sr Supt Pedro Soliba, Regional Special Training Unit-9, Western MIndanao State University, Zamboanga State Polytechnic College, ZCSMST and other donors.  (Allen Abastillas)
