Two minors died in separate drowning incidents in Pasobolong and Sacol Island earlier this week.

At around 6pm last Tuesday, CJ Fabillar Delgado, 5 years old, together with his mother Charry, were gathering firewood near a pond.

After several minutes, the boy left his mother’s side and joined other children who were then playing and swimming in the pond.

The boy drowned in 3 feet of water without anyone taking notice.

The boy was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

A day after, John Sappalin y Ambosong, 4 years old, died after he drowned near the shore in Pasilmanta, Sacol Island.

Investigation showed that the boy was initially with his grandfather along the coastline.

After several minutes onlookers were shocked to see the boy floating and seemingly lifeless.

It was determined that the boy drowned without anyone noticing.  (Dan Toribio)
