Police are investigating a reported abduction attempt involving an 11-year old boy who was reportedly taken by unidentified men in Southcom Village last Wednesday.

A Police Regional Office-9 report identified the victim as an 11-year old student of the Southcom Elementary School.

The boy was standing in the area when a van with three men on board stopped near him and dragged him inside.

The boy was then asked a series of questions about his family.

The van reportedly travelled from the Southcom area and exited at the back of a supermarket in Suterville and thereafter, roamed around the city.

When the vehicle reached RT Lim Boulevard, the victim suddenly jumped out and ran until he reached Camp Batalla where he was given money by a stranger to go home.

The Sinunuc Police Station is still validating the veracity of the report and is reviewing footages from a closed circuit camera in the area.  (Liza Jocson)
