A 2-hour fire razed at least eighty houses in Sitio Cambodia, Tetuan at around 10am yesterday.

City Fire Marshall Chief Inspector Clint Cha said that dozens of houses made of light materials and other semi-concrete structures were razed in Sitio Cambodia, Don Alfaro Street Tetuan.

The fire reportedly started inside the kitchen of one of the structures.

The owner of the house cannot be located as of press time.

Two persons were injured during the conflagration.

Radio reports identified them as Jeric Rodriguez, 17 and a certain Sharon.

Rodriguez sustained a bone fracture in the left arm after he slipped in the mud while carrying a child to safety.

Sharon was saving some belongings when her arm hit a pointed object that resulted to injury.

Affected residents were placed in a nearby covered court for proper accounting.

Residents said that some of the occupants of the houses that were burned were not at their homes when the conflagration occurred. (Dan Toribio with reports from Liza Jocson)
