Around 50 high school students of the Mercedes National High School participated in the “Dream It, Be It,” a global program which aims to motivate young girls to be strong and successful leaders in the future.

The program was sponsored by Soroptimist International in coordination with the Philippine National Police Women and Children’s Protection Center- Mindanao Field Unit.

Supt Christine Tan, Chief of the Women and Children’s Protection Center, disclosed that the program targets girls in secondary school who face obstacles to their future success.

The program provides girls with access to professional role models, career education and resources to live out their dreams.

The Speaker of the Program is Mary Retchelle A. Guzman, President of “Dream It Be It” program and Chairperson of Soroptimist Pampanga.

In her talk, Guzman challenged the participants to make their dreams a reality saying that they should work with dedication and focus on their goals.

Tan, for her part, told the participants to fight and assert their rights to finish their studies and be accomplished in the future.  (Allen Abastillas)
