Police have intensified  the campaign against illegal gambling in Zamboanga Peninsula.

The drive is focused the so-called “video karera” machines which have proliferated in Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga del Sur.

The latest confiscation made by the police involved four machines in Dipolog City.

A police report disclosed that the seized video karera machines belonged to Jingning Sabado of Purok Sta. Rosa, Deodila Clarabal of Purok Ust, Vicente Montemayor of Purok Duranta and Antonio Ferrer of Purok Maalagaron, Turno, Dipolog City. They were confiscated with the help of barangay officials headed by Meynard Baes, barangay
chairman.

Police in Zamboanga City confiscated one video karera machine in Baliwasan the other day.

It was learned that several video karera machines have proliferated in many barangays in this city. One of the reported operators of these machines is surnamed Ferrer.
