It’s all systems go for this year’s Sta. Cruz Island Summer Festival!

This after Mayor Beng Climaco has approved the proposal and budgetary program for all the activities lined up to make the summer in the island more fun, exciting and memorable.

The event, dubbed as Fiesta na Isla, will run all Saturdays and Sundays between April 8 and May 28.

Foremost is the video competition showcasing Sta. Cruz Island and its now infamous pink sand. One videographer will win the grand prize of P20,000 while four others will stand to take home P5,000 each.

Various other contests will also be staged for the duration of the island summer festival when participants will get an advocacy shirt as well as cash prizes.

The various on- and offsite games will include the human sand sculpture, the 3-on-3 boat racing, the island race and the chupa culo eating competition.

Interested parties may inquire from the Protected Area Management Unit of the City Mayor’s Office for further details. (Claudine Uniana)
