During Holy Week: Traffic rerouting scheme set at CCC Park PDF Print E-mail

Mayor Beng Climaco has ordered the implementation of a temporary traffic rerouting scheme on all roads leading to the Mayor Cesar C. Climaco Freedom Park in Abong-abong, Pasonanca and at the same time declaring the area as “walk-in park” from 6pm of April 12 to 6am of April 15 in observance of the Holy Week.

The directive is contained in Executive Order (EO) 255 issued March 23.

Based on the EO, the road leading to Pasonanca Elementary School from its junction leading to Pasonanca Deep shall be closed to vehicular traffic but open for one way traffic from Km. 7 to junction Km. 5 and Pasonanca Deep.

The road leading to Pasonanca Deep from its junction with the road leading to Pasonanca Elementary School up to the entrance of ZCWD motorpool and Luyahan Housing Project will be maintained as a two-way street. However, said road from the entrance of ZCWD motorpool leading all the way to Km. 6 at the entrance to Abong-abong is declared “one way” but motor vehicles coming from the ZCWD motorpool may either turn left to the public swimming pools and exit at Pasonanca road (Jardin Maria Clara) or go all the way up to Km 6 and turn left to Pasonanca main road in going to the city proper.

The road from Pasonanca Y going to Abong-abong Helmet is also declared “one way” and the road between barangay hall and Pasonanca Elementary School as “one way” going to the public swimming pools. The road between barangay hall and Jardin Maria Clara is also declared “one way” going to Pasonanca main road, based on the EO.

Also, EO 255 declares the Climaco Freedom Park as one way from the entrance at Km 6 Pasonanca leading to the park via Carmen Valley up to exit at the junction of Pasonanca-Abong-abong-Murrok Road and Pasonanca-Abong-abong-Tumaga (Luyahan) road except residents of Carmen Valley and Km 7 with vehicle passes issued by the barangay chairman of Pasonanca are permitted to enter/exit at the entrance of the park at Km 6. Private motor vehicles and motorcycles to include PUJ with franchise Pasonanca-Abong-abong may enter the freedom park and to exit at Pasonanca-Abong-abong, Tumaga (Luyahan) road.

The road leading to the “Cruz Mayor” at the park is absolutely no entry to all motor vehicles including bicycles and pedicabs.

No structures for commercial purposes shall be constructed on said road from Station 1 leading to Cruz Mayor. However, the barangay council together with the police will designate an area for such structures where it will not obstruct or impede the flow of traffic and pedestrians.

Pedestrians are encouraged to use the covered walk at Km 6 leading to Km 7 to avoid accidents and for this purpose the Pasonanca barangay Council through their tanods are enjoined to see to the orderly compliance of the same.

The road after the Abong-abong bridge, at Km. 7 is strictly a one-way road and to exit at Pasonanca-Murrok-Tumaga road, based on the EO.

The City Health Office and the City Environment and Natural Resources Office are tasked to ensure that health services to include hygiene and sanitation requirements for the needs of the public are properly addressed.

Mayor Climaco has also issued EO 256 banning the sale and drinking of liquor, bringing of bladed weapons and firearms as well as backpacks and other similar items at the Mayor Cesar C. Climaco Park in Abong-abong during the observance of Holy Week from April 12 to 15.  (Sheila Covarrubias)
