A widow lost a big amount of cash and jewelry after she was allegedly duped by a gang who employed the “budol budol” tactics in Guiwan last Monday.

A police report  identified the victim as Hamsina Columbres, 71 years old, a widow and resident of Pasobolong.

Divisoria Police Station Commander Chief Insp. Arlan Delumpines said that the incident happened when three persons, 2 women and a man, approached the vicimt in front of a drug store in Guiwan at around 9:30am.

The victim had just withdrawn money from an ATM machine in the area when she was approached by the group.

The group, who pretended to know the victim’s son, asked her to board their car on the way to the town proper while convincing her to join their business.

One of the women reportedly showed her a lot of money which she placed inside a bag together with the victim’s money and jewellery.

The victim, together with the bag, was then dropped near the San Bernardino bridge by the group who promised to come back for her.

When the victim opened the bag, she found out that her money and jewelry were missing.

The victim reportedly lost P13,000 in cash, a pair of gold earrings worth P8.400; a necklace with pendant costing P20,000, one gold ring worth P5,000, a watch worthP4,200 and two ATM cards.

Police are conducting investigation to arrest the suspects.  (Dan Toribio)
