The National Housing Authority and the City Government will spearhead the turnover of 537 housing units under the Zamboanga City Roadmap to Recovery and Reconstruction (Z3R) at Vale Vista Subdivision Phase I in barangay Kasanyangan on Monday, April 10.

The turnover ceremony is set at 8am at the City Coliseum in Tetuan Mayor Beng Climaco and officials from NHA leading the ceremony. It will be the second awarding and turnover ceremonies for Valle Vista Z3R Housing Project since it was first opened last September 28 with the transfer of the first batch of occupants composed of 487 families.

The Valle Vista Subdivision Phase I is undertaken by the Bendimil Construction and Development Corporation, covering a total of 828 housing units for a total project cost of P167.817M.

The site covers a total area of 77,361 square meters.

The siege affected families that will be transferred to their permanent houses are mostly coming from the Masepla Transitory site in Mampang while a number come from PTSI, Rio Hondo temporary shelters and several others are home-based.

The other units are still being constructed with May 4, 2017 as the target completion date of the revised contract.

Housing units under the Z3R are undertaken by the NHA while the Department of Public Works and Highways takes charge of the roads, drainage and other structures.

Valle Vista Z3R Housing Project site will be home to 3,405 siege-affected families who can no longer return to their places of origin earlier declared as no return zones or areas of concern. Phase I, with a total land area of 77,361 square meters will be constructed with a total of 828 units with a total cost of P167.8 million. Phase II on the other hand is 77,669 square meters in land area and will be constructed with 794 houses at a total project cost of P179.28 million.

866 houses will rise in Phase III while 970 houses will be constructed in Phase IV.

Valle Vista is one of the total 19 housing packages undertaken by private contractors under the supervision of the NHA. A total of 6,483 houses are targeted for construction under the Z3R. (Sheila Covarrubias)
