LTO Basilan collects nearly P4-M in revenue PDF Print E-mail

The Land Transportation District Office in Basilan has collected revenue amounting to nearly P4-million for the first quarter of this year.

LTO District Officer Habier A. Kalbi said that the Basilan office has collected a total of P3,999,298.55 for the first quarter of 2017.

The amount represents collection from renewal of licenses, renewal of motor vehicle registration, license application, and various violations of the Traffic Code of the Philippines.

Kalbi also said that the collection includes fines and penalties collected for violationc committed by motorcycle drivers.

In a recent operation, 27 motorcycles were seized in an illegal drag racing activity.

Most of the violators are from Tipo-Tipo, Isabela City, Lamitan City, Ungkaya Pukan, Lantawan, Tuburan Mohammad Adjul, and Sumisip.

The LTO also apprehended one violator from Zamboanga city.

The imposition of fines and penalties was the result of the joint operations of the Highway Patrol Group-9 Basilan, LTO-9 Basilan District Office and the Public Safety Battalion. (Allen Abastillas)
