The Archdiocese of Zamboanga is urging Catholics to journey with the Lord’s suffering as Holy Week starts.

Roman Catholics will be celebrating the Holy Week on April 10 to 16 to commemorate the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“Debe el maga Katoliko will journey with the Lord in his suffering on Last Supper which is Holy Thursday, Good Friday, where the Lord carried the cross, died, and when he will resurrect on Easter Sunday,” Rev. Fr. Marciano Villagracia, Archdiocese of Zamboanga Spokesperson said in an interview.

According to Villagracia, the highest celebration of the church is the Easter Sunday.

Catholics, however, will first have to prepare for the Lenten season and Holy Week.

“Nohay bale nada el Christmas, sufrimiento y muerte di Jesus si nohay le man resurrect,” Villagracia said.

He is also urging Catholics to join the activities of the church for the Holy Week which includes: Recollection, the Last Supper, Seven Last Words, Veneration of the Holy Cross, and Procession.

Aside from these, Catholics must also reflect how the Lord loves us unconditionally despite our sins.

Villagracia also said that for parents, this is the best time to teach children the value of suffering. (R.G. A A. Go)
