Mayor out of town during security vehicle crash PDF Print E-mail

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco- Salazar was out of town on the same day that her back up vehicle, a Ford Ranger pick-up, crashed and fell from a ridge in Lunzuran last month.

Climaco made the statement as she parried questions from the media on how her vehicle turned up in Lunzuran during her absence with the driver still unidentified despite a week-long investigation on the incident.

The accident happened last March 31.

When asked about the names of the personnel involved, Climaco said that it is part of the ongoing investigation to determine who was driving  as well as who the passengers were inside the vehicle when it crashed.

“As to who were involved, parte se del investigasyon que man establish canaton el policia quien ta hace donde el insidente, because I was out of town when it happened,” Climaco explained.

She assured the media that the proper sanctions will be meted to the concerned person once the investigation establishes his or her culpability.

“Whatever the outcome of the investigation that will be done, the local government has dealt with the proper employees according to the jurisdiction that is under me,” said Climaco.  (Bhong Simbajon)
