PDEA arrests two drug suspects PDF Print E-mail

Two suspected drug pushers were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA9) in Canelar at dawn last Sunday.

PDEA Regional Director Lyndon Aspacio, CESE, identified those arrested as Noel Remoto Calcaben, 46, and Herbert Alvarez Tolentino, 37, both single and residents of Canelar.

PDEA agents recovered from the suspects’ possession three sachets of suspected shabu worth P3,000, drug paraphernalia and P500 marked money.

The suspects were detained at the PDEA headquarters while the seized items were turned over to their crime laboratory for examination.

Aspacio said that the suspects will be charged for violations of sections 11 (Possession of Illegal Drugs), 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and 26 (Attempt or Conspiracy) in relation to Section 5 (Selling of Illegal Drugs), Article II of RA 9165 otherwise known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared for filing in court against the two suspects.  (Dan Toribio )
