A total of 5,300 out of 6,300 housing units have already been constructed for siege victims as the National Housing Authority hurries up construction to complete the transfer of all beneficiaries by June.

National Housing Authority (NHA) Regional Director Al Indanan said that 5,300 units out of 6,300 housing units have already been completed.

Indanan made the revelation last Monday during the turn over of 537 housing units at the Valle Vista Phase 1.

Out of 537 beneficiaries, 201 came from transitory sites while 303 were home-based.

Another batch is expected to transfer to permanent housing units when the NHA turns over an additional 800 under the Valle Vista Phase 2.

At present, about 52% of displaced persons have transferred to permanent housing units constructed by the government.

The City Social Welfare and Development Office says that displaced persons staying in transitory sites may all be able to transfer to permanent houses by June this year.  (Liza Jocson)
