Two kidnap syndicate members arrested PDF Print E-mail

Combined police elements were able to arrest two notorious criminals during a law enforcement operation in Barangay Tiayon, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay last Sunday.

A Police Regional Office-9 report identiifed the two as Abdurahman Sakilan aka Bobong, 28 years old; and Pujik Ismael aka Pujik Sarahento, 21 years old.  Both are residents of Sitio Gangit, Barangay Mamagon, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Both suspects are reportedly involved in a series of kidnapping incidents and highway robberies victimizing passenger buses and vans.

The two are also reportedly involved in carnapping, extortion and a string of sea piracy incidents.

Most notable of their crimes are the shooting incident along the National Highway in Barangay Cainglet Kabasalan and another incident vicimizing SSgt Ablao of the Philippine Army.

The suspects were also allegedly involved in an encounter with the Philippine Public Safety Company while the unit was conducting seaborne patrol in barangay Mamagon, Naga last April 15.

Bobong Sakilan is also listed as a high value target on Illegal Drugs on the Provincial level as a member of the Ging-Ging Calon Drug Group, a syndicate that distributes illegal drugs in Kabasalan and Naga municipalities.

Sakilan was arrested by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Murder docketed under Criminal Case No. i-6080 issued by Anthony DT Isaw, Presiding Judge of Branch 24, 9th Judicial Region in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Pujik Sarahento, on the other hand, was arrested for possession of explosives.

Police Regional Office-9 Director Chief Supt Billy Beltran commended the concerned PNP and military units for a job well done.

Among the units involved in the neutralization of the suspects are the Regional Special Operation Group 9; Regional Intelligence Division 9; Provincial Intelligence Branch- Zamboanga Sibugay PPO; Zamboanga Sibugay Public Safety Company, Ipil Municipal Police Station and the 44th Infantry Battalion Special Forces, PA.  (Liza Jocson)
