A security guard of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) was shot dead by his colleague while they were rendering duty inside the BFAR compound last Monday night.

Police identified the fatality as Resenciano Francisco Ramillano, 49 years old, a company guard, married and a resident of Divisoria.

The suspect, meantime was identified as Julkipli Julpikar, of the Miravite Security Agency who is also assigned with the BFAR office.

Initial investigation showed that Julpikar was intoxicated when he arrived at his post last Monday evening.

The suspect then shot Ramillano with his M16 rifle and left the area.

Reports on what prompted the suspect to shoot the victim were not immediately available as of press time.

The victim sustained three bullet wounds in the body and was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician at the hospital.

Police conducted hot pursuit operations but the suspect was nowhere to be found.

Police are preparing murder charges against the suspect.  (Dan Toribio)
