A soldier who was abducted by the Abu Sayyaf last April 13 was beheaded by his captors.

This as soldiers from the 32nd Infantry Battalion in Sulu recovered the soldier’s cadaver which reportedly had a severed head which was also recovered in the area.

The body, which belongs to Staff Sergeant Anni Siraji, was found within the vicinity of Sitio Kan Suil, Barangay Taglibi, Patikul at around 2pm Sunday.

The body was sent to the Kuta Heneral Teodulfo Bautista in Sulu for proper disposition before it was flown to Zamboanga city last Sunday night.

Siraji was abducted by members of the Abu Sayyaf in Igasan, Patikul last April 13 while the former was on the way to a peace and development mission. (Liza Jocson)
