Wanted MILF leader killed in clash with cops, soldiers PDF Print E-mail

A notorious Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) lost command leader was killed in an encounter with government forces in Barangay Lakiki, Sibuco, Zamboanga del Norte last Saturday morning.

Killed was Abdulmajid Abdulhaman alias Commander Mullong.
A report from the Sibuco Municipal Police Station submitted to the Police Regional Office-9 disclosed that policemen backed-up by soldiers of the Army’s 44th IB proceeded to Barangay Lakiki to serve to Abdulhaman a warrant of arrest for murder.

However police said that while the government forces were approaching the hideout of Abdulhaman, he and his followers rained them with bullets triggering a brief encounter.

A police report said that Abdulhaman was hit by bullets and was killed on the spot while his followers identified as Sadeh Atani, Norhan Mandi, Palippit Nasurun and Nusrin Alih eluded arrest.

Recovered at the scene of encounter was a .45 caliber pistol with three magazines and a home made shotgun.
Abdulhaman has been tagged as behind the extortion activities victimizing fishermen and businessmen in Sibuco. He was also tagged as behind the killing of some prominent people in the area. — Dan Toribio Jr.
