The city government of Zamboanga and the Commission on Population -9 (POPCOM-9) have signed an agreement to ensure the delivery of vital services to the youth by enhancing communication with this sector.

The program, called the Information and Service Delivery Network for Adolescence (ISDN-A,) aims to address youth-oriented issues on health, work, training, sexuality, information and others.

The partnership agreement was signed at the Grand Astoria Hotel last Thursday.

“Bubuo tayo ng matibay na nagcri-crisscross na referral system, parang 911 ng adolescent health na naka focus sa kanilang kabuuan bilang kabataan.  Gusto natin maging active sila ,” said Reynaldo O. Wong, Popcom-9 Regional Director.

The program aims to have the Zamboanga City Youth Development Office as the foundation of the network.

POPCOM-9 and the Zamboanga government also aims to use all possible means to include text, social media, websites and other technology to reach the youth.

The program will also be implemented in other provinces and cities in the region after signing ceremonies last Thursday in Zamboanga city.  (RGAAGo)
