An airline company that was used in ferrying Ms Universe candidates early this year made their maiden flight from Zamboanga to Sulu province Monday morning.

Platinum Skies launched its maiden flight last Monday at the Zamboanga International Airport and arrived thirty minutes at the Sulu Domestic Airport.

Engineer John Paul Santos described their aircraft as a Dornier 328 with a two-engine turbo propeller which can accommodate 31 passengers.

The plane is being chartered by Island Airlink, a local company based in Zamboanga city.

Flights are scheduled every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Zamboanga to Sulu at 8am and will leave Jolo for Zamboanga at 9am.

Flights are also scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 8:30am and will leave Jolo for Zamboanga at 9:30am.

The flight from Zamboanga to Sulu is the only flight the airline company has in Mindanao at present.  Santos however hopes that there will be additional flights to other destinations soon. (Liza Jocson)
