Police intercepts truck loaded with fuel PDF Print E-mail

Police Station 11 personnel intercepted a truck carrying drums of fuel along Veterans Avenue last Tuesday night.

Police Station 11 Chief Supt Ariel Huesca disclosed that around 7:25 p.m. policemen of Runner 6 patrol car spotted a green Mitsubishi Canter truck with plate number GHJ 857 transporting eight plastic drums of gasoline.

Upon interrogation, the truck driver Albert Atilano, 45, of Southcom Village, Calarian, failed to present safety equipment required to transport the flammable products.

After booking procedures at the Central Police Station, the truck as well the cargo were turned over to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) for disposition.

Police said that the law requires all kinds of vehicles to possess safety equipment while transporting any flammable materials such as fuel products.  (Dan Toribio)
