The National Food Authority in Basilan province has assured residents of enough stock of rice for the week.

NFA Provincial Manager Juliet C. Sali reports that the NFA currently has two varieties of imported rice on stock.

There are 9,809 sacks of rice imported from Thailand and another 7,705 bags from Vietnam, for a total of 17,514 sacks.

The stock is expected to last for up to six days.

Meanwhile, Sali also reports that around 16,000 bags of rice will be arriving in Zamboanga city next week.

Sali said that NFA rice is selling for P27 per kilo, making it affordable to a lot of consumers.  (Allen Abastillas)
