Police have verified the identity of a farmer who is now confined at a local hospital after allegedly being shot in Sulu province last Wednesday.

The farmer was identified as Asani Bani, a farmer working in Pangutaran municipality in Sulu.

Investigation showed that the farmer was walking on his way home when a gunman appeared and shot the suspect.

The victim sustained a bullet wound in the cheek.

Bani was rushed to a hospital in Sulu but was  brought to Zamboanga city.

Police investigators headed by PO3 Had-Anuar Edding visited the hospital along Nuñez Extension to verify the identity of the victim as part of an operating procedure.

Rasung Namli, Bani’s cousin, told police that his cousin was transferred to Zamboanga city to seek further treatment for injuries sustained in the attack.  (Dan Toribio)
