Policewomen of the Central Police Station rescued six free-lance sex workers last Sunday night.

A police report disclosed that law enforcers spotted the sex workers along the streets in downtown Zamboanga while waiting for clients. They were immediately held and brought to the police station.

The sex workers were aged 29, 32, 24, 21, 20 and 19.

The six women came from barangays Sta. Catalina, Camino Nuevo and Talon-Talon.

The police report said that the six women were placed under counseling at the police station and were later released.

The campaign against free-lance sex workers and other mendicants continues, the police said.

Authorities also appealed the public not to patronize free-lance sex workers as they are not safe. – Dan Toribio
