Barangay San Roque recorded the most number of cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever for the month of April at 37, according to City Health Officer Dr. Rodel Agbulos.

Closely following San Roque are Mercedes and Talon-talon with 36 cases each, followed by Calarian and Tetuan with 33 cases each, Putik with 31, Pasonanca with 29, Sta. Maria with 27, Tumaga, 26; Divisoria and Guiwan with 21 cases each;  Culianan with 20 and Baliwasan with 17 cases.

Agbulos said most of these barangays with high number of dengue cases are located along the river and have cemeteries which are potential breeding places of the dengue-carrier mosquitoes.

Nonetheless, Agbulos said the number of dengue cases has considerably gone down and that the city is way below the alert level. A total of 88 cases were admitted in the hospital.

He appealed to barangay officials to continue anti-dengue efforts through cleanliness and sanitation campaigns. (Jennie Peñosa/Sheila Duterte/Amra Mirhan-ZCSPC OJTs-CMO-PIO)
