Police are now holding at least three persons suspected of firing their guns in Merloquet Falls last Wednesday.

Tourists were enjoying the beauty of Merloquet Falls in barangay Sibulao last Wednesday when successive gunshots were heard in the area.

Police together with barangay officials swooped down on the area and held three persons for indiscriminate firing of their guns.  A fourth suspect escaped.

Vitali Police Station Commander Chief Inspector Salvador Galvez identified the suspects as Julbert Suribas y Barnizo, 31; Mijal Jalon y Jainuddin, 33; and Nurkim Latip y Jalon, 20.

According to a report, the Vitali police received a call from a concerned citizen at around 2:45pm informing them that a group of men suddenly fired their guns indiscriminately.

During the investigation the three suspects failed to present papers to legitimize the guns they had in possession.

The suspects were detained at the police station in Vitali.  (Dan Toribio)
