Lamitan to revise Investment Code Print

The Lamitan city goverment is pursuing the revision of its current Investment Code to include the latest projects implemented by the local government.

The Lamitan City Council is set to conduct its second reading on the proposed amendments to the code next week at the Lamitan City Session Hall.

Vice Mayor Roderick Furigay underscored the need to revise the code due to newly implemented projects which reflected growth and progress in the city.

Furigay cited the almost completed Gymnasium, Infirmary, the new market building as new infrastructure projects whose operation have to be integrated in the code.

He also cited changes such as the operation of a four-stroke engine tricycle with a lightweight sidecar, as a development which should also be taken into consideration in preparing proposed amendments.

There is a need to create service fees, area fees and fees that create income revenue for the city, said Furigay.

The Lamitan City Council is set to send out invitations to its stakeholders to participate in the hearing for proposed amendments to the Investment code next week. (Allen Abastillas)
