A total of 284 cadets arrived at the Western Mindanao Command last Friday as part of their annual “Southern Tour.”

The cadets were personally welcomed by officials and personnel of the Westmincom headed by Westmincom Commander Lt. Gen Carlito Galvez.

The Southern Tour is an annual activity to orient PMA second class cadets on the AFP and PNP organizations.

It also aims to help cadets choose the branch of service that they will embark on once they graduate from the academy.

The visit started with a courtesy call to Gen Galvez at 10:30am followed by an information briefing and a boodle fight at the Westminco Khadaffy Mansion Auditorium.

The cadets were able to visit other installations such as the Edwin Andrews Airbase and the Naval Forces Western Mindanao camp for capability demonstrations by the camps’ respective personnel.

The visit was also highlighted by an interaction with invited students from the different universities of Zamboagna city and a silent drill presented at the Command parade grounds.

“These PMA cadets are the future leaders of our Armed Forces. PMA ensures that these cadets be exposed to areas that will help them achieve their full potential,” Galvez said. (Liza Jocson)
