The Highway Patrol Group-9 (HPG-9)  has seized an allegedly stolen motorcycle bound for Jolo, Sulu over the weekend.

HPG-9 Sr Inspector Mervin S. Claret described the stolen motorcycle as a black Honda XRM with plate number 2515 VX.

The motorcycle was seized before the departure of a commercial vessel bound for Sulu and Tawi Tawi.

Claret together with SPO1 Arvin Q. Lozano coordinated with personnel from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA)  to conduct an inspection of all  motorcycle units bound for the island province.

The inspection resulted to the confiscation of the motorcycle that was reportedly carnapped based on records of the Motor VehIcle Management Information System, a program linked to the HPG office in Camp Crame.

It was found out that the Honda XRM, owned by a certain Ric Tangol,  is included under alarm number 2012-1204-011 and stolen while parked along Gumamela Street in barangay Pembo Makati last October 3, 2012.

HPG-9 Chief Supt Joshua F. Alejandro directed Claret to impound the motorcycle at Camp Batalla and coordinate with the Crime Laboratory-9 for macro-etching examination.  (Allen Abastillas)
