Six men were arrested after they allegedly gang raped a 20-year-old woman inside a male dormitory in Triplet, San Jose last Wednesday night.

The suspects were arrested in a hot pursuit operation.

Initial police investigation showed that the victim left the dormitory after she was raped by seven suspects and proceeded to the Tetuan Police Station to report the incident since she is a resident of Tetuan.

The victim, Leslie, not her real name, told the police that it was the second time that she was raped by the group.

She said that one of the suspects was her friend and they used to exchange text messages.

Few days ago, Leslie told the police that her friend brought her to his dormitory in Triplett where she was raped by the group.

However, she did not report the incident to her parents due to fear after the suspects threatened her life.

Last Wednesday at around 9 p.m., the victim’s father told the police that Leslie asked permission to go out of the house as she was scheduled to have a dinner with some friends.

At dawn yesterday, Leslie contacted her father asking for help saying she was gang raped by seven men.

At this point, Leslie’s father proceeded to the Tetuan Police Station and sought the assistance of the police led by Supt. Nonito Asdai.

At the same time, Leslie also left the dormitory and boarded a tricycle and went to the Tetuan Police Station where she met her father and the policemen who accompanied her to the place where she was raped.

At the dormitory, police arrested two suspects while the four others were nabbed at the runway of the airport after a brief chase with lawmen.

The seventh suspect remains at large as of press time.

The case is scheduled for turn-over to the Central Police Station following jurisdiction of the incident. – Dan Toribio
